This week surveys the 150-year history of magazines, as the context within which to survey the emergence, evolution and eventual appropriation of architectural magazines and journals. Lots of favorites: Arts + Arch, Bauhaus, Ulm, Arch Principe, Oppostions, etc.

This week’s seminar presented a survey of the 150-year history of magazines, as the larger context within which to survey the emergence of serial architectural publications (magazines and journals) since the late 19th century. Selected examples include Arch Review (starting in the late 19th century); Bauhaus, Ulm, Arts+Architecture.
